Kenya Animal and Veterinary Voluntary Service

The International Volunteer Travel animal volunteer abroad program in Kenya provides a unique opportunity for volunteers to work with farm animals abroad. The Africa animal volunteer placement abroad, is a chance to learn about animals; and veterinary medicine in general and specifically about care in rural Kenya.

This placement is open to anyone interested in working with farm and domestic animals, practicing and aspiring animal scientists, animal science and veterinary college students, etc.

Duties: Overseas volunteers with animals in Africa assist the resident veterinary surgeon in their many duties including handling animals and animal feeds, diagnosis and treatment of tropical animal diseases, filling and keeping animal records and handling medicines.  No prior experience is required. International volunteers should bring gloves, work boots and lab coats.

Combination of Programs

In addition to Volunteer placement in Kenya, the International Volunteer Travel also offers opportunities for Internships Abroad in Kenya, the Language and Cultural Experience, and the Kenya Adventure Tours and Holidays program. With exception of the Language and Cultural Experience, which must be combined with another program, all Kenya programs are offered independently or in combination.
