TestimonialsVolunteer with Children in Zanzibar
Although the problem of neglected children is
not as prevalent in Zanzibar as it is in
mainland Tanzania, there are still scores of
children separated from their parents due to
death, or sheer neglect. Orphanages in Zanzibar
are in need of manpower, resources and funding
support to supplement their efforts.
Volunteers at the orphanages will normally teach English in the schools that the kids attend. After school, volunteers with children projects in Zanzibar will assist in preparing meals for the kids, sometimes bathing the children, and doing the dishes. International volunteers will also assist the children with homework and organize games and sports and fundraising activities such as proposal writing, etc.

With exception of the Language and Cultural Experience, which must be combined with another program, all Zanzibar programs are offered independently or in combination.
